Borrow not buy with the Brunswick Tool Library

In most apartments, there’s no space for a workshop or a large tool collection. That’s where amazing community-led services like the Brunswick Tool Library (BTL) come in.

You can become a member, then borrow up to ten tools at a time, learn about DIY, or get help repairing your things at BTL’s repair cafes. It’s the perfect solution for those of us with limited space in our homes.

The Library ranges from hand tools like axes and crow bars, to power tools including mig welders, grinders, drills, and drivers. There are automotive, gardening, electrical, transportation, and hobby tools on offer. With 1,800 tools available, chances are they’ll have what you’re looking for.

BTL is a volunteer-led non-profit initiative that provides the tools and education needed to repair and care for your home and belongings. They believe everyone deserves the right to build and repair the things they own, not just those who can afford the tools, or have dedicated workshop space.

Entrance to the Brunswick Tool Library

The BTL is located in the basement Coles underground carpark, 127 Nicholson St, East Brunswick Village (further instructions on finding the BTL are on their website).

Jump onto the BTL website to sign up to the mailing list, or follow BTL on Facebook and Instagram.

If Brunswick is too far to travel, another option is to connect with your local Men’s Shed or see if there’s a Women’s Shed network near you.
