In most apartments, there’s no space for a workshop or a large tool collection. That’s where amazing community-led services like the Brunswick Tool Library (BTL) come in.

As part of their Getting off Gas Toolkit, Renew and their expert panel discussed the ins and outs of renting and living in apartments when it comes to increasing energy efficiency.

Thanks to a partnership between the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments, grants targeted at owners corporations are available. Successful applicants can receive up to $2,800 per apartment, with a maximum grant amount of $140,000 for buildings of up to 50 apartments.

LID Consulting recently completed research and a business case for two existing apartment blocks in North Melbourne to get off gas, go all-electric, and incorporate solar PV and EV (electric vehicle) infrastructure.
